Description

Band Fundamentals – Book 1 introduces first year concepts and offers ample reinforcement material to build music reading and performance skill. New concepts are introduced in the simplest settings possible and are gradually built from there with a clear focus on one skill at a time. Students will have a more thorough mastery of skills, including note reading, rhythm reading, sight-reading, and characteristic tone development. All combinations of the following note values are strongly developed: whole, half, quarter, eighth notes in pairs, eighth notes in groups of four, and dotted quarter notes followed by an eighth note. Three major scales and a one octave chromatic scale are also included. This book offers methods that today’s beginning students need to grow stronger fundamental skills.
